SPECIALISING IN HIGH QUALITY, LOW COST, PUBLIC DOMAIN HISTORICAL FOOTAGE
Public Domain footage is material which was produced by American government agencies or gifted to the American people and contains documentaries and newsreel outtakes, commercials and some early fiction. All materials generated by the U.S. Federal Government are considered to be already produced at tax-payers expense and therefore in the public domain.
Their subject matter spans nearly 80 years (late 19th century to the early 70s of the 20th century) and covers all walks of life. In all cases, the footage has never been, or is no longer in copyright and is not subject to the usual licensing constrictions and prices.
The material includes documentaries, newsreels – both edited stories (Universal Newsreel) or outtakes (Universal and the March of Time), educational films, NASA footage, military films, industrials, training, some fiction and much much more.
