First shots of the Russian Royal Family 2nd April 1900 - Palm Sunday. For
the first time in many years the Sovereign spends Easter holidays in Moscow.
Empress Alexandra Feodorovna and her eldest five year old daughter are standing
by Nicholas II. Tsarina is 27 - Nicholas four years older. Alexandra Feodorovna
- German Princess Alice Victoria Helen Luisa Beatrice from the miniature Gessen
Duchy was the Granddaughter of Queen Victoria.
The Grand dukes following the Tsars family in accordance with the relation
to the throne during ceremonial processions. The Uncle of Nicholas II - Grand
Duke Sergey Alexandrovitch and his wife Grand Duchess Yelizaveta Feodorovna
the Tsarinas sister. This is the only time they were filmed together. Five
years later General Governor of Moscow, Grand Duke Sergey Alexandrovitch will
be killed in the Kremlin by a terrorist bomb, Yelizaveta Feodorovna would
leave a secular life and become a nun.
They are followed by a boy, Grand Duke Dmitry Pavlovitch, Nicholas’s
cousin - he will become an accomplice in the murder of Rasputin in the Time
of Troubles in 1916.

07:07:32 1909 Livadia Palace - The most dazzling Court in Europe. We do not
know what was going on in the halls of the Palace - possibly it was the Imperial
Breakfast of the Sovereign. The camerman asked the Tsars family and the courtiers
to go outside as the low sensitivityof the film did not allow for shooting
indoors. The pose for the cameras with pleasure.

1909 Znamemskaya Square. Tsar Nicholas ceremoniously unveils a monument to
his father Emperor Alexander III - Tsar the Peacemaker - Alexander was so
called during fourteen years of his reign - Russia did not know a single war.
After the ceremony the Sovereign leaves St Petersburg.
The Royal family lived permanently in the Tsar’s village in the suburbs
of the Capital.
07:13:32 The main entrance of Alexander Palace in Tsar’s village, the
family house of the Emperor. Parades and military inspections were held in
the Tsar’s village almost every day. It was a great honour for a regiment
or crew to parade before the Emperor. According to tradition the boys from
the Emperors family were enlisted to the Guards regiments and later became
their commanders. According the the special manifesto Tsarevitch Alexis was

was called Feodorovsky Cathedral in the Tsars village. This cathedral became
the Royal family temple and was also used by the soldiers of the combined
infantry regiment and escort who kept watch in the Tsar’s village.

07:21:19 26th June 1909 Poltavskiye Festivities. 200th anniversaty of Batle
of Poltava. Tsar reviews guard of honour of the 33 Infantry Regiment of Yeletsk.
His majesty received deputations from Poltava city from merchants, middle
classes, cossacks and peasants. Evangeligal Lutheran Societies as well as
Poltava Jewish Society.
Tsar presented with Bread and Salt. Then escorted by Grand Duke Mikhail Alexandrovitch
his majesty left fot the Common Grave where a service for the dead emperor
Peter I and for warriors who perished in the Poltava battle was said. After
this having visited the Church of Peter and Paul his Majesty left for a review
of the troops in the field.

attends ceremony - church is in sanatorium for consumptive children. Tsar
attends exhibition of the Society supporting the Crimea Tartar crafts. Tsar
visits the Askania-Neva estate belonging to Falts Fein - is shown some of
the animals in the zoo. Strange looking animal which has half Zebra markings.
07:43:25 Sebastopol 9 August. Tsar and Tsarina arrive in Sevastapol, the first
stop on their visit to Crimea. They are greeted by dignitaries, they are celebrating
20 years of marriage
07:45:39 Moscow 29May1912 Their Majesties and families entering the Red Porch
in the Kremlin for ceremony on the occasion of the unveiling of a monument
to Emperor Alexander III. In the procession Tsar Nicholas is arm in arm with
his widowed mother Empress Maria Feodovna whilst the Tsarina follows behind.
During the ceremony in the Kremlin the cortege went for the liturgy in the
Assumption cathedral along the specially built dias leading from the inner
suites past the faceted chamber.

cheer the Tsar. The female pupils demonstrated sokolski exercises. Which is
exercises performed to the ringing of bells. Tsar on horseback watches parade.

were made to fund asylums and hospitals. The Tsars family with white flowers

08:09:40 1913 Anniversary festivities during the Sovereigns stay in Moscow
May 1913. It was the celebration of 300 years of the house of Romanov. Ceremony
of laying the stone for the monument to celebrate the 300th anniversary of
the Romanov reign held on the banks of the Volga. Tsar lays stone. The Festivities
started in St. Petersburg in February and then spread all over Russia.
08:13:00 In the summer the Tsar and his family went on a pilgrimage to the
memorial places connected with the first member of the Romanov dynasty - Mikhail.

Assumption Cathedral Tsar Nicholas visits the house of his ancestors - note
the young Tsarevitch Alexei is being carried by special attendant following

Novospassky Monastery in Krutitsi where the burial vault of the Romanovs is
under the Transfiguration Cathedral. Party leave burial vault and the Tsar
