Shots: Valley, war-torn village in what was Nazi occupied country, rubble.  US troops in group resting and smoking, eating outside houses.  Army barracks.  Instructional film showing firepower  of light carbine - bullets through Nazi helmets on models in woods.  Soldier firing M-1 rifle showing how bullet can pass through tree or wall and into target.  Browning automatic demonstrated.  30 calibre machine gun demonstrated.  60mm mortar demonstrated.  81mm mortar laying smoke.  Bazooka fires on tank.  37mm anti-tank gun demonstrated.

A 240 mm Howitzer is pulled by two armoured tractors, is assembled, and then shells an Italian town in mountains with 300lb shells.  Guns firing. Tanks move down into valley.  Good montage artillery firing. Mortars.  Battle scenes as troops move forward.
Italian civilians watching outside town.  Infantry follow tanks into the valley.  Shows troops entering the town; mine detectors being used; and fighting in the streets / snipers.  Civilians leave caves to welcome US troops and receive food.  Waving.  Little girl with US soldier. Children.
