rather than protect colonial interests. This is difficult as the Indochinese are also fighting a war against the
Communists, w/ French officers giving advise & help to native officers. It is a battlefield similar to
Korea. The general repeats the
above in French. De Tassigny says
"We fight against the Communists for democracy and for freedom of the
world." He repeats the same
in French.
