Road leading to Dead Sea - surprise Israeli Border Patrol checkpoint - Palestinians are barred from going down to the beach. Cars with Palestinian number plates stopped and made to go back. Soldiers approaching camera, asking (Hebrew): are you lost, what are you doing. The camerawomen (MOS) replies: were filming how the Israelis dont let the Palestinians pass, only Jews. Soldier says they have a right to film, but that they, the soldiers, are only obeying orders. Camerawoman: this was what the Germans also said. Soldiers walk back to barrier.

This is the old low wall (built by Israel) that split Abu Dis in two for several years, until the completion of the so-called separation wall which is 8 metres high. Scenes of Palestinians passing around the low wall, back and forth. This wall was the only path for them to connect to both parts of Abu Dis. Filmed from both sides.
Families, women, men, children seen climbing over the side of the wall. Carrying goods, plastic bags, babies, young and old. Traditionally dressed women as well as modern young women with scarves.
